Gilbert & Sullivan's Mikado
Followed by the fun, frolic, and audience enthusiasm generated by Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial By Jury, the ever popular (and ever politically appropriate) Mikado will be offered this season. Windsong is pleased to announce the appearance of British-born Richard Sheldon in the title role. Mr. Sheldon is regarded by many as America's resident G&S expert. He will be joined by several Windsong favorites and a surprise or two from the community. The wit and tradition of the evening will make it one of the artistic highlights of the year.
A one-hour inspirational, multi-faceted concert of family holiday music by California composers featuring handbells, violin, flute, and organ, will be sure to enrich your season whatever your traditions might be. This banquet of musical fare will satisfy every palate. Our selection of noels and seasonal songs will catch familiar flavors and feelings making for a not-to-be-missed evening for revisiting holiday memories and discovering new vistas.

The music of British-born John Rutter has found its way into the hearts and minds of the American cousins "across the pond." A man of great faith, he has imbued his music with a depth that speaks to one's inner self yet dances there as well. This program will feature Rutter's The Lord Is My Shepherd and Look at the World
Eleven-year-old violinist Miclen LaiPang will leave footprints on your heart with his sensitive devotion to faith.
Join us for a gourmet dinner as the Chorale sings its patriotic best. One of America's best-known and favorite troubadours is Edward Lojeski. Ed has woven together many of the melodic "threads" of American folk songs into a rollicking, rambunctious, yet nostalgic and thought-provoking tapestry that is sure to strum the strings of your heart. Expect a joyous glimpse of America's soul as you listen to When Johnny Comes Marching Home, Shenandoah and Simple Gifts.

Happy Birthday Puccini! What better way to celebrate the Maestro's 150th birthday than to perform his compositional "graduation project" the rarely heard and ebullient Messa di Gloria which he composed while still a teenager. To round out the evening, Nessun Dorma, the signature aria from Puccini's last opera Turandot will be sung by everyone's favorite tenor Paul Harms, "a real tenor voice that soars up to the highest notes with the greatest of ease." You don't have to be Irish to smile about this concert! Just a week before the Chorale embarks on its journey to Ireland, we bring our California audience those wonderful Irish melodies you've grown to love. Ken Berg's new setting of Cockles and Mussels and other Irish favorites including Danny Boy, From An Irish Cabin and Daniel Brewbaker's new arrangement of The Irish Cliffs of Moher are guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Call the Windsong office if you would like more information about joining with the Chorale for our Ireland trip (singers and non-singers welcome) or for a copy of our itinerary.
